Creative Writing and Reading

The creative writing and reading program is an opportunity for campers to develop their interests in writing and reading without being graded! Campers will be encouraged to explore the power of the written word while in the company of their friends and with the assistance of camp counselors. Creative writing will include introductions and time to explore with myths and legends, short stories, poetry, and biographies. The creative writing and reading program begins in the library nestled into the woods near the entrance to the camp. Stepping into the library is like stepping back into the 1940’s and is filled with good, wholesome, age appropriate books. Many campers enjoy sitting under our big maple trees and reading or writing, while others will swing their toes in the bay while sitting on the dock letting their creative thoughts flow in the wind and waves.
